There’s More to OC than Meets the Eye
The rides, the arcades, the smell of Thrasher’s drifting down the boards... that’s Ocean City. But so are quiet mornings up north, bikes along Coastal Highway, boats coming in off the bay, and sunsets at Northside Park. Spend enough summers here and you learn that every stretch of the island has its own version of OC, you just have to know where to find it.

The Wedge
All the way at the end of the Boardwalk, The Wedge sits right on the Inlet with views across the water to Assateague. Grab a drink, watch the boats come through, and stay for one of the best waterfront views at the southern end of town.
Liberatore’s Ristorante
A little more tucked away than Ocean City’s usual beach bars, Lib’s is the spot for share plates, wine, and a really good espresso martini. Intimate, lively, and open year-round, it’s one of those places you’ll want to know about before everyone else does.
Assateague Island
Trade high-rises for dunes, marshland, and wild horses roaming the barrier island. Go early, pack for a beach day, and leave plenty of space between you and the ponies, this is one part of the Eastern Shore that still feels beautifully untouched.
Isle of Wight Bay
One of those places you can drive past a hundred times without realizing what’s there. The wetlands offer a completely different view of Ocean City; marsh grasses, shorebirds, bay views, and a quiet little pocket of nature surrounded by the town.
Sunset Marina
Head to the harbor in the afternoon and watch Ocean City’s fishing boats make their way back in. During tournament season, the docks take on an energy of their own, one of those pieces of OC culture that’s worth experiencing at least once.
Historic Berlin
When you’re ready for a change of scenery, head inland to historic Berlin. Wander the tree-lined streets, pop into the local shops, grab coffee or stay for dinner, and take in a slower side of the Eastern Shore just a short drive from the beach.
